This unique competition and exhibition is your chance to see and to buy from the future stars of the art world. You can support the first steps in the professional careers of the best graduates of the Northern Art Schools and help raise much-needed funds for the North West Air Ambulance – which is financed entirely by charitable donations. This is a non-profit-making exercise and, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, all the sale proceeds are divided equally between the contributing students and our registered charity.
From 23rd June
Three weeks of public display, private viewings, auction previews and creative industry nights.
Thursday 19th July
Awards night, Gala Dinner and Charity Auction featuring the winning work
This exhibition is a showcase to help these talented young people get started in their commercial careers, in what must surely be the most challenging time ever for artists. We are unleashing the art world’s new blood; we call them the best in the North. Using the exhibition and a set of preview nights we’re also introducing them to gallery owners and illustration agents; to advertising and design agency creatives; and, hopefully, to people like you – people who’d like to buy their work and put it on the wall.
The pictures could be great investments. They will certainly be something original and distinctive. They’ll brighten up your home or office. And you can be sure that you’ve done a good thing.
The work on display here in this unique gallery represents the best of the final year illustration student degree shows from many of the leading art schools of the North. Every piece here is a winner in its own right, representing the best of its course, selected originally by the college tutors. All submissions were then judged by an independent jury of leading art professionals to select the very best Northern illustration student works of 2012.
Every piece is available for sale
Prices are displayed on the walls and in the catalogue. To reserve a piece, please ask one of Mr Thomas’s serving staff. Those pieces shortlisted for the major prizes are being reserved for auction here on the evening of Thursday July 19.
Five students will be awarded runners-up prizes. One piece will then be selected as our overall winner: the Best in the North.
